Healing Your Inner Child. How One Gift Brought Me to Tears

I didn’t expect to cry. At least not like that.
It was my birthday. Surrounded by people I loved, I opened a soft pink package.
Inside was Mandie. Not just any doll; the doll I had lost during a childhood move at the age of nine. The doll who kept me company when I had no words. Who was there when no one else was.
And in that moment, I ugly cried. Not because of the doll. But because of what it meant. That gift said: “I see the little girl inside of you. And I love her, too.”
That was the moment I began healing my inner child in a way I never had before.
Why Healing Your Inner Child Matters in Relationships
You might think your past is behind you. But if you’ve ever:
Overreacted and do not know why
Struggled to trust someone even when they’re consistent
Pulled away when love feels too close
Then your inner child is still running the show.
Healing your inner child is not about staying stuck in the past; it’s about updating the parts of you still living there.
Your Adult You Needs the Healed Child You
